Entry Assessment

Families who are interested in registering their child(ren)  should contact the Registrar in the first instance, by phone, e-mail or personal visit

All children who wish to enter the School are offered an assessment visit, spending the day in a class appropriate to their age.

For children entering Early Years (Playgroup, Nursery and Reception) this will include an informal assessment by a teacher and a discussion with the parent(s).

For children entering Year One and above, the child will join in with all the class activities and be assessed in the English, Maths and Reading activities planned for the class that day.

This is not an examination, and no preparation is necessary, but we regard it as an important opportunity to ensure before a place is offered, that we can meet your child’s academic needs.

What Comes Next?

Parents will usually be informed whether their child has an offer of a place at our school on the day following the visit. Visits usually occur on a Thursday and so you will know if your child has the offer of a place before the weekend.

Although it is preferable for children to commence school at the beginning of a term, we realise that this is not always possible, and we are happy to accept children at any point during the school year subject to the above conditions.

Where a place is to be offered, an invoice will accompany the offer letter and entry cannot take place until the invoice has been settled.

Where a place is not offered, the Headmaster will meet parents in person to explain why it is not possible to admit their child. In certain cases, conditions may be attached to the offer of a place, and these will be set out in the offer letter.

We ask prospective parents to understand that, as a school with a high academic standard which follows British curriculum, KAPNA International Academy always places children in the correct year group for their chronological age. We do accelerate pupils nor do we hold them back.

We look forward to hearing from you soon and to meeting you in the near future!
